At the base of the oven, there is a bake element that is utilized in ranges. For baking, heat is provided via the bake element. If your symptoms include uneven heating, trouble starting, or inconsistent heating, changing the element may be the answer. Make care to unplug the two connectors at either end of the element before removing two holding screws and replacing it with a new one. Make sure the range is disconnected from the power supply or turned off by the home circuit breaker before beginning this replacement. A Phillips screwdriver is the necessary instrument.
