GE WR50X50 Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat 50°F with Clip

Protect your refrigerator from overheating while ensuring efficient and reliable defrost cycles.

If your refrigerator is experiencing frost buildup, inconsistent cooling, or defrost system issues, a faulty thermostat may be the cause. The GE WR50X50 Defrost Thermostat is designed to monitor the temperature of the evaporator coils during the defrost cycle and shut off the defrost heater once it reaches 50°F. This prevents overheating and protects internal components from damage. Replacing a worn thermostat helps restore proper defrost function and maintain efficient cooling performance. Installation is simple—secure the thermostat to the evaporator coil using the included clip and reconnect the wiring.
